The short version. This box is a plain summary. It is not the contract. If the summary and the numbered clauses below disagree, the numbered clauses win.

- The discount belongs to the plan you claimed it on. If the subscription ends, or you move between monthly and yearly, the discount ends with it.
1. What this offer is
1.1 The discount. You pay 10% less than the standard price of your Derive Pro plan, for as long as your subscription remains active. It is available on both the monthly and the yearly plan.
1.2 Who is offering it. The offer is made by Derive Notes Pty Ltd (ACN 696 859 597) and is distributed through Student Edge. It is intended for Student Edge members.
1.3 What these terms are. These are the terms of a specific offer. They sit under the Terms of Service and govern this offer only, as clause 2.3(f) of those Terms sets out. Everything in the Terms of Service, the Privacy Policy and the Refund Policy continues to apply to you in the normal way.
2. Who can claim it
2.1 New subscribers. The offer is for people who have not subscribed to Derive before. You cannot claim it if you hold a paid Derive subscription now, or have held one in the past.
2.2 One use. One claim per person and per Derive account.
2.3 Personal to you. The offer cannot be transferred, sold, or exchanged for cash.
3. How to claim it
3.1 The link, which is the normal way. Student Edge will send you a link, by text message, in the Student Edge app, or by email. Opening it applies the offer for you and there is nothing to type. The link holds the offer for 30 days from the moment you open it, so you do not have to subscribe the same day.
3.2 The code, if the link does not carry through. Some apps open links inside their own browser, and an offer opened that way may not reach the Derive app. If the price you are shown is not discounted, enter the code SE10 in the code field on the screen before the price.
3.3 Once claimed, it follows your account. After the offer is attached to your Derive account it stays with that account rather than with the device you claimed it on, so you can subscribe on whichever device you prefer.
3.4 Check the price before you pay. The discounted price is shown to you before you are asked to pay. If the price on that screen is not discounted, the offer has not been applied, and it cannot be added afterwards. Do not complete the purchase expecting it to be corrected later.
4. Your free trial
4.1 The standard trial still applies. The standard 7 day free trial applies if you are eligible for it under clause 9.4 of the Terms of Service. You are not charged during the trial, and the first payment after it ends is the discounted price.
4.2 On iPhone and iPad, Apple decides. For subscriptions bought inside the app, Apple runs the free trial and decides who is eligible for one. Apple will not grant a trial to an Apple ID that has already used one for Derive, whatever offer you have claimed. If that applies to you, the discount still applies and the subscription simply starts straight away.
5. How long the discount lasts
5.1 While your subscription runs. The discount continues for as long as your subscription renews without interruption.
5.2 It ends when the subscription does. If you cancel, allow the subscription to lapse, or it ends because a payment could not be taken, the discount ends with it. Subscribing again later is at the standard price of the day.
5.3 It belongs to the plan you claimed it on. If you move between the monthly and the yearly plan, the discount does not carry across, and the new plan is charged at its standard price.
6. Price, currency and rounding
6.1 Local currency. Derive is sold in local currency and the standard price differs by country. The discount is 10% off the standard price in the currency you are charged in.
6.2 Apple's price points. Subscriptions bought inside the iPhone or iPad app are charged at the nearest price Apple makes available in your storefront, so the amount you pay may fall a few cents either side of exactly 10% off.
6.3 The price shown is the price charged. Whatever the rounding, the price displayed to you before you pay is the price that will be taken.
7. If our prices change
7.1 If Derive's standard prices change, your discount applies to the new standard price rather than the old one. Clause 9.8 of the Terms of Service applies as normal: a price change takes effect only from your next renewal, and we will tell you at least 30 days beforehand.
8. One offer at a time
8.1 This offer cannot be combined with any other Derive discount, referral reward, promotion code or offer. Where more than one could apply, you get the best one you qualify for, as clause 13.6 of the Terms of Service provides.
9. Cancelling and refunds
9.1 Cancelling. You can cancel at any time. If you subscribed inside the iPhone or iPad app, cancel in your Apple account subscription settings. If you subscribed on the web, Mac or Windows, cancel in Derive's account settings. Cancelling stops future payments and you keep access until the period you have paid for ends.
9.2 Refunds. The Refund Policy applies to this offer unchanged, including the EU and UK right to change your mind. Apple handles refunds for purchases made inside the iPhone or iPad app.
10. How long the offer is open
10.1 The offer period. The offer is open from the date Student Edge makes it available to its members, and stays open until we withdraw it. We may change or withdraw it at any time, and we will say so on this page.
10.2 Withdrawal is not retrospective. Changing or withdrawing the offer does not affect a discount already applied to a subscription that is still running.
11. Fair use
11.1 We may withdraw the offer, reverse the discount or close an account where the offer is being gamed, for example by creating more than one account in order to claim it repeatedly. This is clause 13.7 of the Terms of Service applied to this offer.
12. Your consumer rights
12.1 Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law (clause 22 of the Terms of Service), or the rights EU and UK consumers have under clause 23, or any other law that cannot be excluded.
